MEET OUR DIRECTORS
Colette has worked within the community and the arts in Liverpool City Region for nearly 30 years. Colette founded Acting Angels because “life is hard” and thought kids and adults would both benefit from participating in a group with a youth theatre ethos. “Drama can be so therapeutic, coupled with a youth theatre mentality which encourages participants to find a release and search for the fun in any challenges they are set”. Colette also set up Acting Angels Drama Agency in attempt to make the arts industry more accessible to working class people.
Ben is considered by many as the co-founder of Acting Angels CIC. Ben was the very first person to walk into Acting Angels - full of life, talent and time for everyone. He strongly influenced the direction Acting Angles took, helping to shape it into the supportive environment it is today. Despite his devastating good looks Ben is pursuing a career behind the camera, while paying the bills through his work in education.
Julie is an eminent proactive force in Liverpool’s dynamic Arts scene. Julie is a parent, a carer and a published writer. (Seriously you would not believe the tales Julie tells and the people she knows). We first met Julie when she brought her adult son to us. He came to us as a drummer and we turned him into an Actor. Oh, and apparently according to her 2 loving sons she makes the biggest and best roasts in Liverpool.
Nikki is a former parent of a child who attended Acting Angels CIC. Nikki has a great love for Acting Angles and the community her daughter belonged too. Nikki has become an Acting Angels Director because she wants to do something good for somewhere that gave so much to her daughter. Nikki is a graduate and has worked as a researcher commissioned by Liverpool City Council in a past life but is currently working for a housing association foundation that gives money to community organisations. Probably one of the most generous people you will ever meet.
Ben is our youngest and newest Director. After being an Acting Angels beneficiary and enjoying days out and workshops with us, we noticed that everything was better when Ben was around, thanks to his positive attitude. Ben's deep understanding of young people and his community is a valuable asset that supports our ongoing evolution to better serve those we represent. Despite a busy social life, college, and working as a bartender, he always goes above and beyond for us and everyone around him.
